New Salher WWTP for a mining industry in Belarus
Salher has finished recently a wastewater treatment plant instalation for a mining processing industry in Belarus.
The Belarusian company located in the city of Pietrykaŭ commissioned Salher the engineering design, the manufacture and supply of equipment and now it has ended with the setting-up of the WWTP.
This new treatment station will be used to purify domestic the waters generated by the factory workers, in particular for an expected water flow of 710 m³/day through moving bed biofilm technology. To treat the sludge obtained during the purifying process, the water plant includes a secondary line with a thickener and a filter press.
In addition, the system has a rain water and wastewater reuse plant for a flow of 1.500 m³/day. The technology implemented in this case is an ultrafiltration system with final disinfection though ultraviolet radiation, UV.
One of the singularities of this project was that the phreatic level in the area is quite high, so in order to carry out the WWTP installation without problems, the water was frozen using chemicals, so the area was secure against flooding. Finally, the installation and commissioning has been a complete success and the plant works perfectly.
